I can't make this stuff up.

Honest to goodness conversation with Melissa yesterday after I picked her up from school.

(A little background - She forgot to bring home her writing notebook and her spelling words home with her the night before. But she assured me that she could do the work in the morning before school started. She usually gets there early enough for me to be comfortable with this solution. I also explained to her that this was not to be a normal operating procedure. She said she agreed.)

Me: Melissa, did you do your homework this morning? You know, the assignment that you forgot to bring home?

Melissa: No. I didn't have time. My teacher didn't look at the homework today. She is going to check it out tomorrow. I will do it tonight. I guess that will cut it.

Translation - "She'll never know. I can get away with it."

Oh, the mind of an 8 year old con artist.

Was gonna, but, I can't wanna....

... I just can't wanna post any more tonight.

I am gonna go read.

Later....

Happy Halloween, almost

I can't give away too much, but here is a sneak at a project I have just started. It isn't complete, or I would show more. But I am off to a great start. I will add more years and more embellishments. But this is the general idea of it.....

This is one of those purse sized 4x6 albums you can get for a buck at WalMart or the Dollar Tree. So far, I am loving it. I am still searching for Halloween pics from 1996, 1997 and 1999. I have pics all over the house. I am working on getting them all together. But, I also have three little girls who LOVE photos. So I am finding them in places I KNOW I haven't put them. Like under their beds, in their nightstands, in their toyboxes....

Now, to get those journal pages scanned...............

My how times does fly...

I can't believe it has been a week since I last was here. I was starting to notice a trend. Thursday's were wiping me out. But last Thursday was the Queen of all Thursdays. I was a BIG CRANKY MOM. So cranky that Danny offered to take us out for Mexican food for dinner. My whole family gazed with mouths wide open as I ordered the LARGE Margarita. (for those that know me, I don't drink often, and when I do have a drink, it is usually a small glass of wine or a small beer) It was a REAL good drink. I mellowed out a bit. Okay, okay, a LOT.

Friday, I was still tired, so I didn't worry about the daily journal project. Saturday was the day I would make it all up. Well, Morgan got strep, AND was throwing up. Poor baby. I couldn't really concentrate on anything. My baby was sick and I was powerless to make her better. I couldn't get anything to stay in her little tummy. I was worried she would dehydrate. She is a twig. On a fat day. She didn't keep anything down on Saturday, and her poor little throat was so sore on Sunday, she didn't eat anything. I stayed home with her on Monday. Good thing too. She was one HUNGRY little girl. She wanted melon. So I got her melon. She ate the whole thing. She wanted Ramen noodles. She ate the whole thing. She wanted Oreos. No, I didn't let her eat the whole thing. But she would have if I had let her. She had three servings at dinner. And dark circles under her eyes. But she was back to her fun loving beautiful little self. I love her so much. Tuesday morning found her full of energy and raring to get to school. All of my freaky kids love going to school. Megan, I think is for the social aspect. Morgan loves learning. And I think Melissa just loves going somewhere.

So, here it is Wednesday. AND I am pooped. My project has taken a back seat. Oh who am I kidding, it is in the trunk. I will pull it out this weekend and catch up. I have to. I want to.

I just hope Melissa and Megan stay healthy.....

Here's a pretty little kitty to make you smile. Halloween is coming soon. And the girls are bugging me to have another Halloween party. They really had fun last year. I am going to give in and let them have one. Gotta make those invites this weekend. I will probably use this kitty. She's cute.

This is the Layout of Melissa I made yesterday. I used paper, fabric and felt. I had SO much fun sewing on this one. The skull shoes pictured above help support my Tomboy label for her.

This album is made from a BPS class. I had so much fun making it.

Above is the cover and below is how it looks completely open.

Excuse all the extra stuff laying around the Star Book.

Told you I would try, glad I didn't promise...

I didn't finish my page for today. I will get it done tomorrow and post it then. I am tired and I wanna go to bed. I had another good day. Got lots done in the office. I will NEVER get caught up, but I am keeping our office's head above water. My boss knows this. I think he is pleased with my work. It makes me feel good to know that he appreciates my department being down to ME.

Dinner was Chik-fil-A. I slaved over a long drive thru line to feed the family tonight. Everyone was very contented with their meals. (big smile for me)

September 4

Playing catch up.

The girls started school on the 2nd. I took too many pictures. Most of them really bad, but these are two that I like. The pictures capture the girls showing their personalities. Melissa caught the bus earlier than the two middle school girls, who walked to school for the first day.

Funny how things turn around. They couldn't wait to ride the bus to school. This was the cause of tears around our house for quite some time. NOW, they are in a snit if they DON'T get to walk. ???????

30 Days hath September...September 1

I am going to TRY to post everyday for September. I realize I am already behind, but, I am okay with it. I am working on a hybrid journal of sorts. It is part of a class I am taking through Big Picture Scrapbooking.
I am going to TRY to post my daily pages. (starting today)

Here is my page for September 1. My scanner wasn't working, so I didn't attempt this until today when Danny fixed it. He's such a handy man. It's one of the things I LOVE about him.

Anyway, here goes...
