CCC & OG

This is the week to be Thankful. If you are an American. Or simply in America, then you should be celebrating Thanksgiving this week. It is a celebration of all the things in life for which we are Thankful. This week I am Thankful for way too much to post. But I'll start with YOU. Thank you for visiting and leaving me kind thoughts. There are days when reading the comments make a world of difference, and for that I am Thankful.

Okay, then, on to the cards.
Again this week I am entering 2 challenges.

The theme this week on OPUS GLUE is color.
Specifically this color palette.

I missed the mark on the colors. A little. But my heart was into it. I just failed to double check. I mean, who thinks to double check a color palette that one thinks one has memorized. Right?!?!?! I didn't, and so I was off. A little. I like the colors that I used though.

I didn't get the whole technique down from the Lovely Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Challenge either. But remember that my heart was in it. There was an element that I didn't have, so I improvised. And then I found (after reading the directions) that I didn't have one of the ingredients. So I improvised again. Still, my heart was in it. AND I really like the way that the background turned out.

Can't remember who makes the flourish and tree stamps I used.

The "Give Thanks" stamp is Stampin' Up.

I mounted the backgrounds on a black card base.
I love the way the bright colors look against the black.
Anything else would have been too much.

Don't they almost look like candy all together like this?!?!

Seems as though I have had my head stuck in two challenges lately. I am okay with that. I am one of those that creates because it makes me happy. I relax when I am crafting. So, if I am trying to "make" myself do something, it just doesn't happen.

I am thinking that these two challenges have gone hand in hand lately because I am a bit over-extended mentally at work. And home just seems to be spiraling out of control. SO, not having to think about what to do has helped. I still have to decide other things. You know, like what to make, and what colors, but having the technique handed to me is a God send. KWIM.

Thank you for visiting.

Well, I can honestly say, you totally nailed this technique, and I suppose you got it right on the first try, unlike some other people I know (ah, yeah, me.). These are spectacular, I love the colors!

These are stunning.

Thank you for sharing and letting us visit (even those of us who "lurk" & rarely comment).

Happy Thanksgiving. :)

I think Thanksgiving should be a worldwide affair - we could do with a day over here too! I hope you have a good one.

Jana,

I love the colors you used (better than the ones you were "supposed" to use, lol). Your cards came out great. I love the way you made multiples...and they DO look like candy;)

Great job on the challenge!

Jana, these are absolutely gorgeous! Yes, they DO look like candy, all standing there together looking so pretty and colorful. You did a fabulous job with the splatter technique and your finished cards are joyful and lovely.

I'm sorry you've been feeling overextended, and I hope things calm down for you very soon. :-)

Now I want some M&Ms. See how my mind goes directly to chocolate?
