Heart the ART, Something from Nothing and Opus Gluei

I made this this morning. It satisfies me, but it also satisfies the requirements for a few other things.

1. I am really enjoying the Heart the ART prompts at Gina's Tyggereye Arts blog. Although I am not current with the weeks, and have now gone out of order, I am enjoying them tremendously. She is really talented and is making me stop and think. I decided to make a page for this year long adventure. I didn't know the prompt I would use. I thought I would make the page and it would come to me...

2. I needed a project for Opus Gluei. This week's challenge is to use a picture provided by them, for inspitation. I thought I would use the flowers, colors and the grey background as a starting point.

3. I am using my stash as directed in Shimelle's Something from Nothing class. I pulled out several patterned papers (flowers) from my scraps drawer.

How it came about: I traced the page onto grey cardstock and cut it out. Then I punched out flowers from the scraps of papers. I used the negative as a stencil and used white ink to print flowers onto the grey paper. Then I stamped an alphabet stamp allover the background. It's very faint, but it's there. Then I distressed and added the word paper, the flowers and the journaling and title blocks. I added the bling and the owl and then wrote.

Like most of the images I post, you can click on it for a better view.

I love this page. Great colors and sentiment. I am so glad you are still sticking with us. Heck even if you only do every few weeks you'll still have a kickin' book at the end of the year! ;)

I just love this, and as always, the words opus gluei make me laugh (so clever, who ever thought of that!)

I really really really like this page; I think the techniques you used are great and the journaling personal and poignant.

oooooooooooooh! jana, i ♥LOVE♥ this! i already loved it to look at, and then i read the method and i love it a ZILLION times more, even! i looooooove that you glued as you went and just MADE THE PAGE before deciding what it's about!!! to me that's like the *ESSENCE* of what art journaling is supposed to be! wow. awesome! plus, as i said, it just LOOKS soooo FABULOUS too! ♥

ps: as for being "caught up" and working "in order", i say, "PAH!" this is my 3rd year doing a year-long...and the first that i've been in order and keepin' up! there's no statute of limitations on papercraftin'...do 'em when ya FEEL IT and you might have a few less pages at the end of the year...but they will all be AWESOME!!!!! ♥♥♥
