WOYWW - 85

I know it's Thursday, but honestly, this is what my desk looked like yesterday. I haven't done anything in my Studio, so I figure that it's a genuine photo of my desk from Wednesday.

I am in love with these new acrylic paints. I have only used those bottle that you get in the craft section at Wally-World or Mikey's. You know the ones that cost just under a dollar, or less if you get them on sale. I will still use them, but they dry chalkey. KWIM? WELL, these paints dry smooth. No chalkey feel. And they are thicker, so they cover better. And they add a texture, if you want. I also treated myself to a new set of brushes. Not the expensive ones, but the $5 a set ones. Happy times.

The birdhouse is a recent purchase. I have two others too. But this one is here because it was a victim to my wood chewing pooch. I knew better than to leave it on a lower level in the Studio, but I didn't pick it up. And he got to it. You can't really see the damage. It's minimal. So I have to re-glue the poor thing.

The dinosaur card is a one that my daughter made a while back. Somehow it surfaced over the weekend. I'll probably use it to write her a little note in her backpack or lunch sack.

I have never tried using acrylic paints, so I shall be interested in seeing how you use them. I have only just plucked up courage to use water colours again, having been put off painting when I was at school. Poor art teachers have a lot to be blamed for. I am enjoying them now and your painting is another bit of inspiration.

Having only managed a pathetic 22 desks last week and leave comments I thought I'd start at the back and work forwards so I would get to meet new people. The prices you pay in America are a lot less than in UK. I'd love to visit a Walmart and as for Michaels you would never get me outta there. I use acrylic paints for doing my dolls faces and am pleased with the results I get on calico.

Thank you for the information about the paints. I quite like a chalky appearance, but it is not always required. The bird house is one you are going to decorate, I guess....looking forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks for the peek at your desk. I actually got a tube of that paint in a kit and wasn't going to bother using it. I thought the big container was overkill for a scrapper, but since you give it such a glowing report, I will have to try it. I have to say the box of colors is very appealing!

Great paints! I know about those old chalky cheap acrylic paints. Isn't it nice to have some good ones? :) Love the shots of your desk.

I would imagine that the aroma from a box of good acrylic paints is almost as heady as when you were a kid and opened up a new box of crayons! Even MORE crafty goodness and creativity to come forth, I can't wait to watch your journey!

I love that you share your work space with us, it's actually very inspiring and I know that you have a plan for everything there, because I know you well! Go forth and create, young woman!

Hi!

I thoroughly enjoy your blog. Congratulations on doing such an excellent job with it.

Have you experienced the phenomenon where you might be initially struggling with writer's block when--all of a sudden--the creative juices take over, and the blog accelerates and takes up a life of its own?

You are invited to follow my two blogs:
