This is what you can get when you reach out and grab a handful of what you already have.
The challenge this week on OPUS GLUEI is to reach out and grab what is within reach on your workdesk, then make something with what you have grabbed.
My workdesk is usually creatively cluttered. LOL So, I had a bunch of things within reach. Now the problem of what to make with my wonderful goodies. You know, those little bits or pieces that were intended for a project but didn't make the cut.
I thought about cards, but wasn't feeling it. Then I thought bookmarks, but since I have made about a gazillion in the last few months, I decided against that too. ATC's came to mind and I knew I had a winner. I grabbed that piece of cardstock and decided to make a set of 10.
I cut the cardstock as arranged above. Those little white pieces are the leftovers. I'll make 3 inchies out of the larger piece.
I used some gaffers tape and fabric tape to make the background pieces. I used the same pieces on the outside edges to unify the set. And a photo turn and brad on each one too.
My hubby sent me a romantic email the day I was typing the DYMO tape, so I was inspired to use this saying.
And a silver circle on each one too.
And a bit of DYMO tape on each one also.
Can you believe I had so many different bits lying around?
Even the stamps were in reach on my table.
Since I am playing along in a couple of Christmas card challenges I had some Christmas items, so I made a Christmas ATC.
Not all of them are themed, but, they all have something with wings on them.
They all make me happy.
My middle daughter thought up this one.
She even helped by making the DYMO tape for me.
She loves this quote, and has claimed this ATC as her own.
Think you are up to the challenge this week???

Oh Jana, these are GORGEOUS, lady! I love the vibrancy, the styles, the different little embellies you used, ALL OF IT! I can't choose a favorite, and they are all as good or BETTER than I've seen in magazines. You have such a gift for putting it all together. (so, which one are you going to send me? LOL)
Love you, Arty lady!
These are all so pretty Jana, I couldn't pick a favorite either!
these are spectacular...worth waiting to see from the blurred out post for sure...must get started on mine now...the challenge is on...
I love the bird cage and the message behind it... very clever. I have the same problem with my workdesks... yes I have two that are all cluttered.. I go to clear them off and something inspires me and I create something else and just make a bigger mess... but oh how FUN IT IS!
I was gonna say, you had all this on your workdesk? Holy crap. I'm trying very hard to keep things cleaned up in my office, so I don't have too much right within reach, but I'll see what I can do! And your ATC's are all FABULOUS! Just love them all! So many great colors and sparkle!
These are great!! I love all of them. The sandpiper is very cute ;)
By the way, have I complimented you on your photography skills? Mad cool photo to start off this post, consider yourself complimented.
how fun Jana! I'm gonna remember this post when I need ATC inspiration! TFS!

WOW!! These are AMAZING!!! Love them all!
Wow I'm completely blown away by your inchies. Each one is different and all are packed with so much interesting details. I would never have known you got so much into those tiny spaces if you hadn't mention it.
These are all amazing Jana, I'd just tidied up my desk when you posted this challenge so there was nothing there to work with, and I just can't cheat, i..just..can't.
But now I look at all that you've made and I just know I would still be faffing over the first one while you would be putting the finishing touches to the 10 one, so...
I hope you received my email thanking you for the lovely blogging surprise.
Have a great weekend.
Gini
